GIANT RAINFOREST PRAYING MANTIS
Giant Rainforest Praying Mantises are excellent pets, especially for beginners, because they are large, visually impressive, and easy to care for. Their care involves providing a tall, well-ventilated enclosure with climbing branches, maintaining high humidity through daily misting, and feeding them live insects like flies and cockroaches. It's crucial to house them individually to prevent cannibalism and to be gentle when handling them.
The Giant Rainforest Praying Mantis, a native of Australia's rainforests, can grow up to 10 cm long and is a skilled predator that uses its large eyes and spiny front legs to hunt and capture prey like insects, spiders, and even small lizards. This species is green or sometimes yellow, can turn its head 180 degrees, and is one of the LARGEST mantis species in the WORLD. Females are often larger than males and may eat their mates after mating.
They can live up to 12 months of age.
